A USEFUL STARTING POINT

Find the guide you need first

Choose the dossier that answers your next question. Background and the complete directory are just below.

UNDERSTAND BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

What to check before paying

Entry requirements, budget and access belong in one plan. Separate official requirements, booking conditions and comfort preferences.

Your entry situation

Begin with your nationality, travel document, destination territory and purpose. Use the official France-Visas assistant instead of a universal document checklist. Tourism, study and moving to France are different projects. Check the exact territorial scope rather than assuming mainland and overseas travel always have identical entry arrangements.

Build a budget with breathing room

Add transport to your accommodation, nights, meals, visits and the return journey. Check cancellation terms, deposits and extras before comparing bookings. Guide examples are not live quotes: the final price depends on dates, party and selected product. Keep enough flexibility for a changed train or an activity that cannot go ahead.

Have a fallback

Keep bookings available offline and find relevant contacts through official sources. Check public-holiday opening, access needs and mobile connectivity. A simple route with an alternative is more robust than a timetable with no spare space.

Four questions before booking

Choose the period and a base, then count nights, days and travellers. With children, include rest and a real indoor fallback. Keep useful contacts offline before travelling: everyday planning and an emergency require different services. The detailed guides compare decisions rather than promising an average price or one perfect season for everyone.
