Most asked questions
How do you travel from CDG to Paris?
RER B uses Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 1 for Terminals 1 and 3 and Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 2 TGV for Terminal 2. Check live engineering works that day.
How do you move between CDG terminals?
Use the free CDGVAL between main terminals, car parks and stations. Some airside connections use different shuttles and security routes.
Where is the TGV station at CDG?
Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 2 TGV station is in Terminal 2 between halls 2C-2E and 2D-2F.
Identify the exact terminal
CDG has Terminals 1, 2 and 3, and Terminal 2 is divided into halls. A flight number and airline may not establish the final terminal months ahead: check the ticket, then Paris Aéroport and the airline again on departure day. Allow separate time to reach the correct hall.
CDGVAL and internal transfers
CDGVAL is the free automated shuttle linking the main terminals, car parks and stations; Paris Aéroport lists normal operation from 4am to 1am. Some airside connections use different shuttles and depend on the security route. Follow transfer signs before exiting, because an unnecessary exit can force a new screening.

RER B to Paris
RER B serves Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 1 for Terminals 1 and 3, then Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 2 TGV for Terminal 2. It reaches Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles, Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame and Denfert-Rochereau. Paris Aéroport currently lists the airport ticket at €14; recheck price, disruptions and operating hours on the day.
The CDG 2 TGV station
Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 2 TGV station sits in Terminal 2 between halls 2C-2E and 2D-2F. From Terminals 1 or 3, use CDGVAL and then follow rail signs. A direct TGV to Lille, Lyon, Strasbourg, Bordeaux or southern France can avoid Paris, but a flight arrival and separate rail ticket need a generous buffer.
Taxi, car and pickup point
Use only the official taxi rank or the ride-hail pickup point shown in the terminal. Give the full address and check the current Paris flat-fare rules on the official page. For a private pickup, share terminal, door, flight number and expected time after landing; 'CDG' alone is not a meeting point.
A safer connection
Check whether the itinerary is on one ticket, baggage is through-checked, border control is required and the terminal changes. Separate tickets normally do not protect the second departure. For an overnight stay, choose a hotel by terminal or CDGVAL station rather than the marketing word 'airport'.
