FRA9 · AFTER PURCHASE

Intervene, document or touch nothing?

Triage the issue before cleaning, repairing or shipping. The result protects the item and record; it diagnoses neither material nor authenticity.

Service passport

Six linked records, from initial condition to checked return.

  1. 01

Stop use and isolate the item

  2. 02

    Photograph before any action

  3. 03

    Link purchase, reference and defect

  4. 04

    Request written diagnosis and quote

  5. 05

    Authorise the exact intervention

  6. 06

Archive return, parts and service warranty

Identity, description or provenance doubtful? Open evidence & recovery
01

Start with condition, not a miracle product

Describe the exact item, stated material, affected area, when the issue appeared and whether it changes. A stable surface mark is not the same as an opening seam, failing clasp, shocked watch or soaked object. FRA9 triage orders evidence and actions; it neither diagnoses material nor prescribes a product.

02

When not to clean anything

After water, heat, colour transfer, distortion, a fall, loose stone, closure failure or a defect that may involve the seller, stop use and photograph it. Avoid heat, soaking, alcohol, wipes, glue, polish and universal recipes. Home treatment can extend damage, erase evidence or complicate a guarantee; obtain written instructions first.

03

Commercial warranty and legal guarantees

A house service is a commercial warranty or separate service; it does not replace legal guarantees owed by a professional seller. Conformity depends on factors including seller, date, new or second-hand status and defect. Private sales follow another route and hidden-defect protection may matter. Preserve the timeline before third-party work.

04

Choose between the house and an independent specialist

The house knows its references and decides what it accepts, where and on what terms; an independent workshop may offer other methods. Compare diagnosis, scope, parts, changes to colour or material, timing, transport, cost, service warranty and return of replaced parts. Repair acceptance or refusal never universally authenticates an item.

05

The quote must describe the expected result

Request intake photographs, recorded defects, proposed work, excluded areas, added parts or material, possible visual change, price, timing, shipping cover and recourse if the result differs. Authorise line by line. Cleaning, recolouring, polishing, replacement and restoration are not synonyms and may change original material.

06

Build the service passport

Connect invoice or transaction, reference, dimensions, dated photographs, declared defect, diagnosis, quote, authorisation, shipping evidence, return, replaced parts and service warranty. Mask complete numbers in any shared copy. The passport supports care, insurance, resale or a dispute; it is neither authentication nor valuation.

07

Insurance: check before transport

Read the per-item limit, excess, agreed or declared value, depreciation, territory, theft away from home, accidental damage, material exclusions and appraisal requirements. Establish who covers outbound shipping, time at the workshop and return. A historic invoice or sentimental value is not automatically the reimbursed amount.

08

Exit the lab with a closed record

After return, photograph the same views, test function without force and reconcile result, invoice, parts and warranty against the quote. Keep a professional-seller defect claim separate from a workshop dispute. If identity, provenance or description becomes doubtful, open FRA9 evidence and recovery without presenting the service as authentication.

FRA9 · FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does the score diagnose damage?

No. It orders precautions and evidence; only a competent examination can diagnose the item.

Does house acceptance authenticate it?

No. Intake, refusal or repair must not become a universal certificate.

May I clean before contacting the seller?

Not when a guarantee may apply or treatment could erase evidence.

What belongs in the passport?

Purchase, reference, dated condition, diagnosis, quote, authorisation, transport, parts, return and service warranty.

Will insurance repay the invoice?

Not automatically; limits, excess, valuation method and exclusions control reimbursement.
