Two calendars, not a 31 December finish
The 11 September 2026 opening and the 17–19 December stage closing frame the performance season. The official calendar nevertheless continues to 10 January 2027 for an exhibition. These dates serve different plans: a January visit can still include Lubaina Himid’s installation, but not a theatre evening inferred from the festival’s overall date range. Saying only “until the end of December” is therefore not a reliable way to choose an outing.
Lubaina Himid: two venues, two visits
A Fashionable Marriage is free to visit within the Musée d’Art Moderne’s permanent collection from 16 October to 10 January. It is separate from Attendre ensemble, made with Magda Stawarska at Chapelle Saint-Louis de la Salpêtrière, 6 November–20 December. At the chapel, the sound component is inactive Wednesday–Saturday, 14:30–15:30, during mass. Timing therefore changes the experience, even when entry is free; the two installations should not be treated as interchangeable venues for the same exhibition.

Choose a work, not just a calendar slot
For dance, Bouchra Ouizguen’s Qunfudh is listed at MC93 on 22–25 October. For the closing programme, nora chipaumire’s gadzi—a Paris chapter is listed at Fondation Cartier, Place du Palais Royal, on 17–19 December; its page still said booking was forthcoming when checked on 18 October. An artistic announcement therefore does not mean seats are on sale or that a session time has been confirmed. Choose the work first, then inspect its agenda and access conditions.
Subscription, ticket and alert are different
Subscriptions start at three performances and offer several price categories; they are not an unlimited pass to the whole edition. The box office provides availability and seating information when ordering. For a sold-out work, an alert reports possible returned availability without reserving a seat. Compare a route of three works that genuinely fits your stay, rather than adding performances solely to reach the subscription threshold. Keep the final booking confirmation for each selected performance.
Geography is part of the programme
MC93, Musée d’Art Moderne and the Salpêtrière are not one festival district. Their addresses, formats and visiting constraints differ. An installation can fit into a museum afternoon; a performance imposes a start time, duration and return journey. For a first visit, choose one performance and one visual-art project in separate time slots. Above all, check the venue attached to your selected session: some works travel between partners, so an artist’s name alone is not an address.
The final check depends on the outing
For a performance, check the session, venue, language or surtitling information and whether booking has actually opened. For A Fashionable Marriage, inspect museum opening days, especially over the holidays; for Attendre ensemble, also check the sound pause. December’s stage closing does not cancel January’s exhibition. This guide was checked on 18 October 2026; the organiser’s individual listings remain necessary for last-minute changes and newly released seats, rather than treating one overall festival end date as a ticket guarantee.
Frequently asked questions
Are the dates confirmed?
The stage season runs from 11 September to 19 December 2026; A Fashionable Marriage continues at the Musée d’Art Moderne through 10 January 2027. These boundaries do not describe every work’s dates: choose the production, venue and session in the organiser’s calendar.
Does one ticket guarantee the whole programme?
A subscription is available from three performances, but every production keeps its own capacity and booking status. An alert is not a ticket; wait for confirmation from the venue box office.
What should be rechecked?
Programme, cast, surtitles, availability and accessibility can change. Recheck both the performance and venue pages 48 hours before and again on the day.
